We are off for a 5 day break to sunny Benidorm where we have booked a room with sea view and balcony at hotel Canfali in the old city. The weather is very pleasant for this time of year (22C) although the sea is still very cold. Went for a couple of walks and found a lot has changed in the 5 years we were last there.

Burns Night

It is the 25th January and we are celebrating the birthday of the great Scottish bard himself. We meet with a group of friends and have “Cock-a-leekie” soup, followed by Haggis with tatties and neeps. All washed down by copious amounts of whiskey. An entertaining evening.

ADC – A View from the Bridge

Another Friday and it is the ADC Theatre again. Tonight we are seeing “A View From The Bridge” by Arthur Miller

Arthur Miller’s masterpiece on human weakness.

Eddie Carbone lives with his wife Beatrice and his niece Catherine. His life is simple and pragmatic, but this all changes when Beatrice’s immigrant cousins enter the fold…

How far will Eddie go to protect the world he has created? A powerful statement of human nature and very well performed.

New Year’s Eve

We are having a small party tonight (11 people) and each one is bringing a dish. We spent the evening talking, drinking and playing games and are surprised that it is already close to midnight. We wish all our friends and family a very happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.
