Went to Prickwillow this evening and enjoyed a ballroom dancing evening at the HIAM’s sports and social club. Always a good evening and this night was with the Galaxy Big Band which allowed us to practice our cha-cha-cha’s, waltz, foxtrot and quicksteps. An exhaustive evening which did not finish until 23:45 so did not get home much before 01:00.
As Prue had not been to Birmingham before we decided to have a look around the centre and in particular the German Christmas markets and the shops around the Bullring. Also went to the Birmingham Museum an Art Gallery where we had drinks at the Victorian tearoom. A gentle stroll along the canals via Brindley Place and Farmers Locks to the hotel. We picked up the car at 15:30 and drove back home where we arrived at 18:00.
Drove to Birmingham for an Andre Rieu concert in the National Indoor Arena this evening. We arrived at the hotel at around 18:20 and a leisurely walk to the Arena meant we arrived at 18:50. Looked for a quick eat but all places were full with long waiting times. We decided to eat after the concert which started at 20:00.
A enjoyable show with some great performances from the tenors and sopranos. Got to the indian restaurant at 23:00 for a rather late meal and got back to the hotel at 00:30
Prue is holding her annual Christmas exhibition in Grantchester Village Hall this weekend. Hopes to sell many Christmas cards, silk scarves and hand painted cushions. As usual there are cakes and teas to complement the exhibition
