We have been invited by John and Chris Roberts to a Curry Evening. A wonderful spread prepared by Chris (no doubt John kept and eye on her) and shared by several of our friends. An eclectic range of curries was accompanied by poppadums, naan breads and chutneys. A great evening made even better by the good company and food.
Went to the Cambridge Botanic Gardens again today for a picnic and concert this time by AfroSamba. The group encompasses Afro Brazilian Jazz, Samba and Bossa Nova.
Another great evening in a wonderful setting.
Prue is manning her Open Studio’s stall today with Naina which allow me and Ashok to fly to Clacton today. Perfect flying weather and after a very smooth flight we touch down at Clacton Airfield. Brings back memories!
Ashok and I then walk to the end of the pier and have fish and chips and watch the world go by. A very enjoyable way to spend a Sunday afternoon. We fly back in the late afternoon and get back to Fowlmere at 17:50.
Went to the Cambridge Botanic Gardens today for a picnic and concert by TG Collective. An interesting mix of Flamenco, jazz and some classical music.
We met up with some friend and all had a great time.
Flew to Keyston airfield and had a lovely meal at the Pheasant which is only a small walk from the runway. I flew with Trevor J and David R who had won the flight in an action of promises a couple of weeks earlier. We all had a good time and both Trevor and David loved the short flight. Left Keyston at 20:50 to esnure we got back to Fowlmere before it got (too) dark.
Our last day in Jerez and after breakfast it is off to the airport (again!). An uneventful flight to Stansted where the temperature is higher than Spain (25C-31C). Quick drive up the M11 and glad to be back home again although we will look back on this with great fondness.
Time flies and it is time for James and Welly to fly back to the UK so another trip to the airport at 10am. Susanna has another training flight mid afternoon so again to the airport and although I manage to see part of the first half of the Fifa World Cup final she needs to be dropped of at 16:30. At least I get back to see the whole of the second half but back again to pick her up at 20:00.
Another very nice meal in Jerez.
The weather again is great in Spain so decided to go to Cadiz and the nearby beach. After a short drive (with Susanna, Welly and Stefan taking the train) we meet up at a small restaurant near the beach. A very enjoyable meal after which we go to old Cadiz for a small walk. We then meet up again in Jerez for drinks. Another wonderful day.
Today is the big day that Susanna will get her wings. That is after she has a mid afternoon training flight in the DA42, so have to drop her off and pick her up again. When we get back at 17:30 we only have 30 mins to get ready as taxi is booked for 6pm. A lovely evening and not only does Susanna get her wings from James
but also gets the prize for the best ground-school student. 2 very proud parents! We finally get home at midnight.
After breakfast we walked into Jerez and visited the market and had lunch at the Plaza del Arenal. Picked up Susanna from FTE and drove to Seville airport to pick up Stefan. We then also found that Welly had missed the connecting flight and would now take the train to Seville. We hence had very late dinner at Bistro Mama and didn’t get back to the hotel until 01:15.
