Devon II

Another glorious weather day and after breakfast, I am helping Simon with tidying the barn and moving some “stuff” about. Rather thirsty work and are rewarded with a very nice lunch prepared by Elaine. As the forecast for North Devon is not great for Sunday we have decided to fly back on Saturday evening. After a 2hr flight we touch down in Fowlmere at 20:30.

As the weather is continuing to be glorious we have decided to fly to Devon to see Simon and Elaine who have a small farm near Lashbrook. The nearest airfield is closed to have to fly to Eggesford from which Simon is kindly picking us up. After a 90 min flight we touched down. We enjoyed our lunch and afterwards helped Simon and Elaine to feed the animals, give them injections and then had a barbeque washed down by “duty free” wine. A great day!

John’s 70th Birthday

Another day and another party to go to. This time it is our friend John (2nd from right) who is celebrating his 70th birthday and he is having a hog roast and party. Again a great opportunity to meet friends and have an enjoyable time.

May Ball

Before (18:45)

After (04:30)

Went to the Wolfson May ball with some of our friends. We had the dinners first which was Gravadlax followed by Venison and cheese cake. A very enjoyable meal which was completed by revelment throughout the night. This included amongst other things, silent disco, stand-up comedy (in Spanish?), dancing and magicians. We left at 04:30 to rest out tired bodies. I think we managed quite well.

Trip to Paris II

Prue did some sightseeing around the central hotel and after a lovely dinner they had some drinks in a wine-bar.

An early start on Sunday as they’re flying back to UK. A very nice trip which will be treasured for a long time especially as the first officer said that his “mum” was in the back….

Trip to Paris

Today, Prue was taken to Paris by James as a birthday treat. Flew from Heathrow and James managed to get her upgraded to business class so she enjoyed the champagne and fine food. She was even invited into the cockpit after they landed.
